I may just want this lens: Voigtlaender APO-LANTHAR 90mm F3.5 SLII Close Focus

I love the 58mm F1.4 NOKTON, this 90mm apo-lanthar may just be the right lens to add.

Flamenco Dancer - part I

Finally I am done editing these images.
The idea behind the photos are to replicate those vintage spanish flamenco scenes that you can find in many tourist stores.

Domke F2 loaded

Spot the lenses ;) from left to right and clockwise
Nikon d700+mb10 grip w/sigma 150mm f2.8 macro attached
Tamron 17-35mm (removed the lens hood otherwise it wouldn't fit)
Nikon 85mm
Nikon 24-120mm
Lensbaby Composer with on top a Voigtlander 58mm nokton
And the sb900 that goes on top of it all
Not bad for a small shoulder bag.

The info on the domke site is a little ambitious, I really had to puzzle to get everything loaded. The site is probably still using old fashioned "thin" lenses for their "fits X lenses":

Ideal for: 2 Pro SLRs, 4-6 lenses, pro flash and accessories.

Yeah right! Definately impossible to fit 2 modern Pro SLRs in there. Maybe Without grip and lens yes, but then you'll never get 6 lenses inside. And the SB900 won't fit either ..

I do love the military duffel bag look though. Schweet.

Cat & Mouse play

Looks like our cats can't stop hunting and playing.. Sadistic little bastards, playing with an "innocent" mouse... Funnily enough, with all that playing, the mouse got away.
See the photo with the cat "hands-up" .. the mouse is actually thrown over her, you can see the mouse behind her belly.. That was the last she saw of the mouse :D

Sorry for the out of focus shots.. I need to practice the tracking with the D700 (and the sigma 150mm isn't very fast either)

First Sigma 150mm F2.8 shots

Well, testing the Sigma 150mm F2.8 AF IF EX DG APO MACRO HSM lens. Sigma marketing must have a poll on who can invent the longest acronym list!

Anyway, here are some samples. I already noticed a few things:
- Macro photography is HARD .. but since the lens will be used mainly for portrait stuff, I can get around that ;-)
- AF is, even though it is an HSM lens, quite slow. AF tracking is hit or miss, even if you use the focus limiter.
- The damn thing is heavy. My D700+MB10+8xAA is already pretty weighty.. adding the 150mm doesn't make it easier. The whole kit weighs 2.6kg ..
- Sharpness and field flatness is excellent.. I wonder if I could use this lens for piggyback astrophotography.

Any vignetting you see is added in post-processing :-)
Post processed with Bibble 5 PV2.1 available from Bibble Labs
